LAURA TINDALL
MUSICAL DIRECTOR

Laura brings more than two decades of experience as a music educator, creative arts leader, performer and director. Currently Head of Music at a leading secondary school, she is passionate about inspiring the next generation of young performers through high quality teaching and extra-curricular programmes. Laura also delivers teacher training in improving performing arts education and performance opportunities in schools.

 

An accomplished pianist, Laura has directed countless youth productions, bands and choirs, establishing Youth Theatre groups in schools and directing productions including Bugsy Malone, Fameand Grease, alongside acclaimed showcase performances such as A Night on Broadway and Songs from the Shows.

 

Laura has performed in many musicals over the years on the North East theatre scene, some favourites include  Avenue Q, The Producers and Calendar Girls with Astravaganza Entertainment and West Side Story, Stepping Out, Jekyll and Hyde, La Cage aux Folles and The Witches of Eastwick with West End Musical Theatre Company performing at Newcastle Theatre Royal, Tyne Theatre and City Hall, Newcastle.

 

Laura has also sung with choirs including Voice of the Town and The Singers, performing everywhere from Newcastle’s Biscuit Room and Lindisfarne Festival to churches in Cologne, and has appeared in ensembles for Take That and Barry Manilow tours at Newcastle’s Metro Radio Arena.

 

When she’s not making music or theatre, Laura enjoys being behind the camera with a keen interest in music and theatre photography.

Laura is delighted to be joining the Creative Team for our production of We Will Rock You after appearing on stage as Marie in Calendars Girls at the 02 City Hall Newcastle
